Couldn’t upload your file to C:\Inetpub\vhosts\MySite.net\subdomains\Place\httpdocs/wp-content/spacer.gif.

I have several Domains managed on my Windows Server and several Domains via Webhosting (Linux?)
The message above appears when I want to upload a file to my Server.
When I upload to a hosted domain – there is no problem.
How do I set Permission on my Server that I can upload files?

I am having the same problem and have been searching for hours for a solution.

What folder or file am I supposed to grant “write” permission to?

The Windows user that starts with “IUSR_” needs to be given write and modify permissions to that upload folder. If you don’t have remote access to the server to do it yourself, you’ll need to contact your host to have them do it.

That username is the anonymous web user in Windows. It’s the username that IIS uses to access publicly accesible websites. It’s possible that your host is using a different account for that purpose though – so make sure you tell them to give the anonymous web user write access to that folder, whatever the username is.

Thanks. I have a dedicated server so it’s no problem getting access. It’s just a question of which folders and files to set because I have tried following the docs but that doesn’t seem to be enough. I still get errors. 🙁
