• When you set the Upload option to create thumbnails, does it resize the image with HTML, or does it actually create a thumbnail image from the original image?

  • It doesn’t create the html, but it creates the thumbnail with “thumb-” added to the beginning of the filename.

If you upload an image named “photo.jpg”, it’ll create the thumbnail “thumb-photo.jpg”.

What is the best way of using this tool to have a thumbnail in your image but linked to the fullsized image?

    hi there,

where can i set the upload function so that it creates automatically a thumbnail?!

i have searched the admin area and cannot find it. sorry.

    thanks,
    evert

    egreis,
I’m a WP NUG and discovered that the upload functionality discussed in this post is pre-2.x. In those versions there was an Upload tab/link located in the same menu as the Dashboard tab, Write tab, etc. You could use it to upload files, images, etc. It also provided a set of display options for that file, including thumbnail creation. That functionality was taken out for whatever reasons in 2.0.

If you want that funtionality in 2.0 try this plugin. So far it works fine in my 2.0 CPanel-based install.

    Good luck,

thanks for the help so far.

i still have the issue that if i upload a picture in WP 2.0 taken with a 5 mega pixel camera. i just cannot change the settings so that it works to use the thumbnail.

if there is anyone out there with the same problem…

    evert

    You might also try
this plugin, which has a ton of features and will help you insert the images you upload.
