Thank you for such a fast reply – sorry for the multiple (same) questions – it is rare you get such a fast reply here (if you ever get any at all) so I figured if I responded to everyone that had the same issue maybe one of them would get answered.. never figured all 3 would so fast.. thank you..
I have tried to check the owner only and that does not fix the problem.. I have been testing this and it seems to be something that only happens sometime, but not all the time which is making testing very hard to do – every time I think I have it fixed and it seems to test normal it ends up breaking again but I cannot figure out what is breaking it.. do you have any other ideas of things I can check?

one other quick thought.. does this matter if it is activated on a per site or does it have to be network activated ?

One problem is that i do not have a networksite so i cannot test it.
What i learned from previous questions about this topic is that it should (??) all go right after network activation.
I have been thinking of an axtra feature: the possibility to save the blog id with the album info, and then restricting album access to the blog it belongs to (optionally), much like the owner field feature.
A complete restructuring (everything blogid specific) is impossible because of compatibility issues with current installations. I also do not want to get into difficult conversion procedures, as they are difficult to test and dangerous to use for unexperienced users.
So, pls try the network activation and give me a reaction on the idea of blog-specific albums. I imagine to have a switch so that every album can be set individually to be either public (as it is now) or private (only accessable from within the same blogid), with private being the default.
