  • I’m having the same problem.
Bulk load stops after the first pic.
Could it be sticking on thumbnail generation?
Argh! I’m wasting so much time on this!

@ashenton – Are there any error messages being displayed, or viewable in the site’s error_log files?

@apurdam – Although your issue may be similar, please read the following: http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post … and start a new topic for your site’s concerns.

@ashenton – Although there could be other factors involved those error messages are pointing to an issue with the site’s PHP Memory Limit being to low for what you are doing. It appears you have the PHP Memory Limit set as 128, can you have it raised to 256?

Also, what are the other server settings you are seeing under Gallery > Overview?

    Thanks!

    – Cais.

@ashenton – The rest of the settings should be fine although I would generally recommend raising these as well:

PHP Max Upload Size : 8M
PHP Max Post Size : 8M

I would suggest with a memory limit of 256 to raise these to at least 32M or even 64M.

    Thanks!

I contacted the hosting provider, and this is what they said:

Thanks for your ticket. The error indicates that the plugin “NextGEN” is using more than the permitted amount of memory for PHP (128MB default on our shared server). I request you to contact your developer and have them to review the script. You may need to consult with your developer to review the script installed on this domain in question to check whether any components/module is not misconfigured.

I don’t know which script he is referring to, but he told me it is not possible to increase PHP limit and that a well-written script shouldn’t need more memory than the allowed limits.

@ashenton – I’m sorry to read that was their response as it is not uncommon for (shared) web hosting services to provide a PHP Memory Limit of 256 without issue.

You are welcome to submit a Bug Report (http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) for us to review this specific case but we will need a great deal more information and samples of the specific images you are using as well as access to your site to troubleshoot this further although your web host may be the greatest stumbling block we might come up against.

    Thanks!

Cais – I wasn’t sure if I should add comment here – or start a new thread. We have had this issue twice now (today being second time).

When uploading photos, I don’t receive an actual error – just the yellow caution sign. Even happens when uploading one image.

I worked with GoDaddy a while back 05/29, when this first happened, and someone was able to help me through it… We updated our plugins, made sure themes, etc. were current and all set. We had to deactivate and activate plugin to make it work. I can’t recall what was being done on their side – however, they kept looking to make sure it was updating on the hosting side (in my w-admin or content maybe?)… and finally it worked.

I am now having the same trouble again. I’ve tried deactivating and activating – and it still doesn’t work.

Help? My wordpress is current 3.9.1

Thank you so much in advance.
