   I have a site working on my computer with Vista and exampplite, but after uploading to hostgator, I have no index.html file and when I enter my domain name I get a blank page. How do I create an index file? I have index.php. Is that the same file?

   my index.php file is in the directory: http://mydomain.com:2077/public_html/mydomain.com/index.php

   yes, this is a wordpress 3.1 site.

   Are you using a Linux or Windows server?
