upload file size change

    Hi, even though this subject is placed many times i still have problems with the file size.

    i made a php.ini file with the following content
    upload_max_filesize = 64M
    post_max_size = 64M

    uploaded the file to the wp-admin folder on the server and several other folders but still the upload size stays 8mb,

    i have a hosting server with wordpress installed on there, so i can change settings but i can’t reboot the server or any services on the server.

    can anybody please help with what i am doing wrong.

    Try contacting your hosts for assistance.

    am hosting myself, so have all the access till the root of de domain but can’t restart the server.

    so contacting the hosts is not a option.
