[resolved] upgrading to subdirectory, blank front end pages (2 posts)

after upgrading to 2.8.4 my front end pages were all white. i could log into the back end and see all my info, but previewing or just trying to type in the pages all resulted in blank pages.

i tried disabling and deleting plugins, using default themes to no avail. i just reverted back to my old version, but noticed something odd before doing so . . .

my install is located in a subdirectory and somehow during the upgrade another copy of the subdirectory was placed inside of itself (http://www.domain.com/wpinstalldir/wpinstalldir)

this was not the case before upgrading. i wasn't sure what caused this or where to look for the culprit. before i try to upgrade again, does anyone have any suggestions?

    thanks

i ended up doing a wordpress export, installing a new version of wordpress, then importing the wordpress data.

other than changing paths in the wordpress export file (before importing it to the new install) and manually downloading/uploading attachments, it was pretty straight forward.

i ended up moving from using a subdirectory to root for wp.
