[resolved] Upgrading to new version of WordPress (3 posts)

I tried to upgrade to WordPress 2.3.1 (on my own domain), and I didn't take a backup first (Yes, I know it was stupid).

I used the Three Step Upgrade: http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress

I probably ignored the fact that I was not supposed to replace the plugins and themes folders. I hope the posts and comments are not deleted?

When I tried to follow the link http://example.com/wordpress/wp-admin/upgrade.php, I got the error message

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: add_filter() in /hsphere/local/home/my_address/blog/wp-includes/default-filters.php on line 8

    How can I fix this?

I'd first consider deleting the WordPress files and reuploading as per Steps 7 and 8 in Upgrading_WordPress_Extended.
