jQuery. one needs to replace every call to jQuery with the server install...for sites with very high traffic...not going to happen or matter on basic hosting.

Thank you very much for your response. I don't clarly understand what you wrote.

How do I replace every call to jQuery with the server install?

What is not going to happen/matter in basic hosting?

I have a basic shared hosting for my site and my site does not have a lot of traffic. Does it mean that I should need to upgrade?

My uBillboard3 promotion slider is not working and the designers of uBillboard told me I must upgrade.

    Thank you in advance!

    MK

If you have full control of your server, you can download and install the version of jQuery required by your plugin, then update the plugin souce files to point to the install location for that version of jQuery. If you are on a shared host, you need to discuss with them.

Some suggest loading jQuery from external sources.

jQuery is included with WordPRess, and I thought it had 1.6.1...

Wp 3.3 which just reached Release Candidate status will be out soon, it ships with 1.7.1

You can view your source code to see your version, or supply a link for us to check it out.... but you're jQuery should be at or above 1.6 already

    Hello and thank you all!

How do I find out what version of jQuery I'm currently running in my WordPress?

View your source code in the browser. Usually in the head section somewhere you will see

    <script type='text/javascript' src='http://www.domain.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js?ver=1.6.1'></script>

Or similar.... some themes may set it up differently and have it in the footer section, but the head section is most usual

I cannot find nothing like that code

mine only says something like this wp-includes/js/l10n.js?ver=20101110

What does l10n mean? is that the version?

  10. mako2 - I would suggest you just wait till the next version of WordPress comes out - It shouldn't be more than a month.

What does l10n mean? is that the version?

l10n is an abbreviation for localization, incidentally, I had just written an article a few hours ago giving the real basics on what that means.
