You need to follow the Upgrading WordPress or Upgrading WordPress Extended instructions. Version 2.7 is a massive change from 2.6.5, so following the directions is your best bet.
Does anyone know someone that will do the upgrade. I have several in the same hosting account that I need done.
I just cant figure it out, I have tried to follow instructions but afraid of messing it all up.
When you say “several”…how many is that? Does your account have Cpanel?
I too am having EXTREME diffuculties trying to upgrade to 2.7. I wish it were as simple as hittiing a darn button, but NO, we have to go thru a lot of crap just to remain up-to-date. I have very little skills and knowledge in website design and creation, so i am trying to learn the lingo and read the instructions to the upgrade but with no luck.
Currently, i am still in step one of the upgrade instructions (the supposedly SIMPLE instructions…)
I am stuck at the part where it says
#2 Delete your old wp-includes and wp-admin directories.
How in the world do i do this? Where do i access this, from my cpanel of my hosting company or form my admin panel of wordpress?
This is VERY CONFUSING for me, and if anyone can help a complete newbie i would GREATLY appreciate it.
