I upgraded from 2.6 to 2.9.2 on my localhost, everything went fine until I tried to write a new post and my blog would freeze up for a good 45 seconds when I tried to post. Obviously this is annoying so I don't want it happening on my main site.
I read somewhere that I should upgrade from 2.6 to 2.7 and then 2.7 to 2.9.2, is this the best way to do it or should I go 2.6 > 2.7 > 2.8 > 2.9.2?
Well you can't go wrong with the incremental approach. Just make sure you have backups in case.
Make sure you deactivate all plugins before starting.

Ok, I thought I was the only one with this problem. Nice to know I'm not alone.
I upgraded from 2.6 straight to 2.9.2 and have a bunch of problems. My question is, how do you go back and get a copy of 2.7?
Do you have a backup from before the upgrade that you can restore from?

I'm 99% sure. Just have to find it. I'm afraid if I don't... that my blog is just screwed.
Downgrading is a tricky and often dangerous task which usually falls under the "don't even think about it" category. I hope you have that backup. If not, your hosting provider may have a recent backup of your entire account.
