   Hi!
   I have an old blog which is version 1.0.2 and I want to upgrade it to become 1.5. I have some other blogs that are 1.5 and I simply loove the new version! The flexibility in wordpress is World Class! :)

   Anyway... I am sure that there is more people than me that is wondering how to upgrade an old, old wordpress blog.
   Could any of you help me/us?

   I have searched a little bit here in the support forum, but have a hard time getting the idea of the procedure...
   Do I have to upgrade from version 1 to version 1.2 before I try to upgrade to 1.5? What do I have to do?

   Backup everything - database and all files

   Download 1.2 ( http://static.wordpress.org/archive/ )

   Apart from wp-config.php, DELETE all the WP files from the server (be careful not to delete images or anything else you may have stored in a /wp-* folder)

   Upload the 1.2 files

   Run /wp-admin/upgrade.php

   Download 1.5

   This bit again: Apart from wp-config.php, DELETE all the WP files from the server (be careful not to delete images or anything else you may have stored in a /wp-* folder)

   Upload the 1.5 files

   Run /wp-admin/upgrade.php

   That's 1.5 up and running.
   The theme / template issue then raises it's head - are you wanting to use the one you have, or will you go with a new theme ?

   (And if anything is not clear, do keep asking !)

   I can vouch for Podz's tutorial. You should follow it step by step, do not skip any steps and do not fail to perform the steps exactly as outlined. It doesn't take any time at all. I upgraded a client's site in approximately 20 minutes using the tutorial and it runs flawlessly!

   Works like a charm! it all took around 12 minutes.... Where do I make a donation to the WordPress community?! :)

   So what folder do I upload the 1.5 files to? I'm assuming the public_html?
