We have version 2.9.1 and want to upgrade to 3.0.5

If we did this would any plug ins ( we have 64 installed right now) mess up the upgrade.

64 plugins? Wow.... thats a lot!

So yeah, I think it would be safe to assume at least one is incompatible.

No way to know without doing your own research really.....

I am currently looking at each plug in to see if it is supported by 3.0.5 and i guess if it is not then i should remove them and then upgrade?

not necessarily, I have several out of date plugins.... and they still work fine. Sometimes plugins don't need an upgrade...

Usually if you no longer need a plugin, you get rid of it. Or if it breaks your site you obviously get rid of it

So when t says that it is compatible up to "xyz.xyz" that doesnt matter? What i am doing is if it is not compatible with 3.0.5 i am deactivating until it is updated. I am mostly concerned since our site gets a lot of traffic, of having major issues and getting complaints, eamils etc... Would this be wise? I could always do that then activate each plug in individually and see if it works. What do you suggest that I do. I really appreciate your help.

I usually deactivate all my plugins, then do the upgrade. Then reactivate plugins just a few at a time to see if any break my site

    So just to clarify:

I should deactivate plug ins, bask up files then activate each plug in 1 at a time. After each activation, check my site to make sure it is functioning?

    Thanks again!
