[resolved] Upgraded to 3.4.1 and can no longer access admin (12 posts)

I just upgraded to the 3.4.1 this morning and I can no longer access the admin. The main site is still up and running (thank goodness). When I type in the wp-admin address in the url it redirects the page to this: http://squashblossombabies.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php?_wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2F

Other info: Site is hosted on GoDaddy. I did log into FTP and renamed the plugins and the themes. Neither of these things worded to allow me to log into admin.
I also spoke with someone at godaddy and they helped me try to rename and see if there is anything else but was told there is nothing else he can help me with.

    Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

    Try:
    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme's folder inside wp-content/themes and adding "-old" to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    - re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder - from a fresh download of WordPress.

    - running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    Thank you for the response!

Tried switching themes using the ftp site and got a blank page with this:Oops! This link appears to be broken.

Same thing with resetting the plugins.

How do I attempt the other 2 options without accessing the admin?

That does allow me to type in my login info but then it directs me to the following:
    Not Found
Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.

Can I attempt these two items in the FTP site?

    - running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

    Thank you

The first can only be carried out via FTP. The second involves you navigating to http://your_domain/wp-admin/upgrade.php in your web browser.

Do you have any link to directions on manually re-uploading all files and folders via the FTP site?

    Thanks again!

Okay, I found the directions on how to upload.
But here is what has me panicked....I did a backup this morning but I don't have the software to open the sql file. Do I need to be able to open that before moving forward? I'm a nervous wreck that I'm going to lose all my content, photos and posts.

Problem resolved. I logged into godaddy - resaved everything, uninstalled wordpress and re-installed it. Add back the old content files and database.
It was a problem with the database needing to be updated.

    Thanks for helping.

This happened to me as well, I had to restore the backup to gain access to the admin. Ne'er the less I will be passing on that new update until they sort the bugs
