I recently upgraded to 2.8 and things seems to be fine, except that when I select a widget (one of WP's built-in ones or a 3rd party one) and change the options (e.g. changing the text in a text widget) and save it - the changes seem not to be saved, such that they are not reflected on the sidebars when I next view the site.
Also - (probably related) whenever I return to the admin's widgets page and select the widget again - the options/text etc are the same as before I made the change.
Without this functionality I cant change my sidebar's content !!
Help (please) !!! :-)
If I need to supply any further information - let me know and I will...
Thanks
Andrew
1. Not all 3rd party widgets are currently compatible with WP 2.8
2. After making widget changes, ensure that you are seeing a fresh copy of your sidebar by pressing the CTRL and F5 keys simultaneously when viewing your site. Or clear your browser cache every every widget change.

THanks for the reply, esmi, but I tried the text widget that comes with WP 2.8 and it didnt work either - shift-F5 and clearing the cache also didnt help.
Deactivate all plugins and try again.

I also added some text to the text widget, saved, deactivated the plugin and reactivated it and ....

Am puzzled now.

I am having this same issue but I haven't upgraded to 2.8. It only started happening yesterday, so I am thoroughly confused...can't edit existing text widgets, can't add new ones.
Been scouring the forums and DBs and can't find any help anywhere. VERY frustrating, but hopefully an answer will present itself soon... :)

nogimmies - Whilst I am in no way happy that you have the same problem as I have, I am relieved that I'm not the only one with the issue !
Hopefully one or other of us will stumble over a solution soon.....
BTW - is it only text widgets that present the problem ? I havent thought about trying others - I will when I get home tonight.
Keep looking ( so will I !!)

OK - strange - now it all works !
Maybe it was using wp-admin from IE7 rather than firefox !

I, on the other hand, have always used Firefox and I am having the same problems, so I'm not sure it's the browser.
Any other ideas?
Thanks.
