Upgrade to WP 2.8.2 did not make notification disappear

Hi,
I upgraded my WP install from 2.7 to 2.8.2. At first I tried to ‘upgrade automatically’ but it always froze. So I bit the bullet and downloaded all the files and overwrote the ones in my current local WP folder. I then uploaded all the new files. But when I log in to my admin panel it still says: “WordPress 2.8.2 is available! Please update now.” And it says that I’m still using version 2.7.
Is there anyway to get rid of this? Did I miss something?
