[resolved] Upgrade to 2.1: "WP requires MySQL 4.0.0 or higher" (4 posts)

When I try to upgrade from 2.0.X to 2.1, I get the following error message right after I click upgrade:

ERROR: WordPress 2.1 requires MySQL 4.0.0 or higher

That's funny, since phpMyAdmin tells me: MySQL-Client-Version: 5.0.27

    What could be the problem?

If you in fact have at least MySql 4.0.0 or greater, 2.1 shouldn't give you any problems upgrading. Perhaps one of your plugins are preventing you from upgrading? Maybe one of your plugins were built to use a MySql version under 4.0.0? Good luck!

Also, make sure your plugins are Compat with 2.1, please check to see if ALL your plugins are listed over here:

Just some reads about the MySql version requirement.

The problem is solved – I have contacted my provider and they seem to have fixed it.

    Thanks for your help, spencerp!
