I am running WP in IIS7. The solutions proposed here do not work.
Does anyone else have any ideas?
In my case non of solutions by both littleREDelf and hedonplay worked, but what did work was instead of typing in the url in the ftp field, I used the server’s local address: 127.0.0.1 and everything worked like a charm again.
Hope this helps someone else too 🙂
you can upgrade the plugin manually if its not getting done automatically due to your server settings
There is a solution from a user here called “mcarretero” post link is here , his fix was to add this code
if(is_admin()) {
add_filter('filesystem_method', create_function('$a', 'return "direct";' ));
define( 'FS_CHMOD_DIR', 0751 );
}
to the your wp-config.php file. I had the same problem and this fixed it for me.
this code works, thanks medsdeb
the original thread was closed, but just to give a heads up, I’m seeing this issue in 2.9.1 with Media Temple on an installation that worked just fine 3 days ago.
yeah, i’m on 2.9.1 and i’m getting this error and none of these fixes are working.
ugh.
any other tricks?
I have posted the fix Here
