    I went from 2.8.6 tot 2.9.2.
    Deactivated all plugins. When reactivating the following occurred:

    custom taxonomies:
    Notice: Undefined property: stdClass::$label in /var/www/vhosts/compunetics.org/httpdocs/wp-admin/menu.php on line 42

    custom field template:
    Notice: Undefined index: cftsearch_submit in /var/www/vhosts/compunetics.org/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/custom-field-template/custom-field-template.php on line 55
    Notice: Undefined index: page in /var/www/vhosts/compunetics.org/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/custom-field-template/custom-field-template.php on line 92
    Notice: Undefined index: custom_field_template_export_options_submit in /var/www/vhosts/compunetics.org/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/custom-field-template/custom-field-template.php on line 112
    Notice: get_settings is deprecated since version 0.0! Use get_option() instead. in /var/www/vhosts/compunetics.org/httpdocs/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2970

    Akismet (only on dashboard):
    Notice: __ngettext is deprecated since version 2.8! Use _n() instead. in /var/www/vhosts/compunetics.org/httpdocs/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2970
    Notice: __ngettext is deprecated since version 2.8! Use _n() instead. in /var/www/vhosts/compunetics.org/httpdocs/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2970
    Notice: _c is deprecated since version 2.9! Use _x instead. in /var/www/vhosts/compunetics.org/httpdocs/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2970

    Some of the notifications (CFT) are also visible on the site, the others only on top of all admin pages.

    There is also a clash between subdomains and custom taxonomies plugins.

    "Notice: __ngettext is deprecated since version 2.8!"

    This fixed it for me, take this out of wp-config.php

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
