    Hi there!

I upgraded my wordpresss site manually, step-by-step as the description showed on this site.

Everything went fine, until I logged in and I saw that there 0 content on the site.

I logged in into admin and I saw that dashboard beleives there is content on the site.

It shows 6 pages (had those), but they are empty.
It shows comments, but when I want to access them I get 404..

I have the same number of pages/comments, but I cant “view” any of them as I get a 404 error.

What should I do? I need the stuff back ASAP! Help please!

    P.S.:
Before upgrade, and since I turned off plugins.
I switched to default themes, none of them show my content.

  • Hi there. The 404 errors are more than likely due to a problem with your permalinks due to the upgrade (I stand corrected here though). From what version did you upgrade from? When you upgraded did the installation say it had to upgrade/update your database?

You say admin shows 6 pages, but you say they are blank. If you view your page listing are the pages there?

    Hi there!

I upgraded from 2.8.x(cant remember last digit) to latest.

I had to upgrade database, WordPress showed my to upgraded it, so I did.

Page listing shows all the pages, but they are blank.

I checked the phpmyadmin and I SEE under wp_posts that the content IS THERE. There must be something wrong GETTING the content… 🙁

    Can’t figure out what though…

Very strange indeed. Something has become messed up. I think this is a little beyond me. But for starters I would go to ‘Permalinks’ under settings and resave these. If you use the default structure try a custom structure like %postname% and resave TWICE.

Failing that I am not sure. Anyone else have some advice?

I went to the wordpress stack exchange where I was advised to do a full rollback and start incremental system upgrades.

I will try that today starting from version 3.0, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 then the latest one.
