Upgrade from 2.9.2 to 3.0 rc1. Admin login problem... (46 posts)

  1. Ah, okay, good.

And when you're in domain.com/site2/wp-admin, the links STILL point to domain.com/wp-admin, or do they become relative?

Also, which version of 3.0 are you on?

    I'm having the same effect.

The links become relative to whatever site I am in. I am using 3.0 RC1

  4. Grab RC2 from http://wordpress.org/download/release-archive/ (it's at the bottom) and see if that fixes it.

Also, was this a fresh install or an upgrade?

I guess I did a fresh install then moved my database back over. In dealing with this upgrade, I still have my db backed up, so should I just extract over the 3.0 rc1 files then upload, right?

I just updated to latest version 3.0-RC2-15204 and still am having the problem. I did an upgrade from WPMU 2.9.2 following these directions, http://wpmu.org/how-to-upgrade-wpmu-2-9-2-to-wordpress-3-0-in-5-easy-steps/ that I found in multiple places.

Fixed it. Something with the WordPress MU Domain Mapping plugin was causing the issue. I updated that plugin to the newest version in trunk and everything is functioning as expected now.

  8. epschmidt , I went to look at my MU->RC1->RC2 upgraded site and I can't repro this there either. That's really weird.

Jim R, you should have just copied the 3.0 files over your 2.9.2 files and upgraded 'straight up' like you normally would do a manual. That's the best way to upgrade.

That said ... this makes no sense unless somehow there's a bad file out there, and then that should show up for more people.

  9. The only time I've seen the links messed up is when you're also using the domain mapping plugin.

So is there a way to fix that issue?

I have the latest version of the domain mapping plugin according to the plugin download page. (0.5.1)

Awesome, I couldn't find it before. Thanks!

  12. I'm nagging the plugins devs to go & release the latest already. ;)

    Haha, nice!

Any other known issues? Or, troubles you had upgrading?

I just upgraded and had a couple of funny things happen.

  14. Funny things like what? I'm testing the latest revision.

  15. The links become relative to whatever site I am in. I am using 3.0 RC1

Actualy, other than the "backend" and "visit" links, the rest of them *should* be relative to what site you;re on.

This is under Super Admin -> Sites when you hover over each site and get some links fade in.
