   I've upgraded to WP2.8.6 the long way: delete and re-upload.

   I get this message in the banner of the WP-Admin page: http://spencerlindsay.com/transfer/wpAdminPage.png

   If I try an automatic upgrade of either the main WP site files or the plugins, it asks me for my FTP password and then goes off and hangs there forever. No upgrade happens at all.

   Ideas? I'd sure love to use the automatic feature!
