Hi - I have upgraded to 2.7 on a several blogs with good results. I upgraded on another, forgetting the "deactivate plug-ins" step. Now, I can see the blog ( http://livingveniceblog.com ) with this message at the top, and I'm not technically savvy enough to understand what it means:

Warning: array_keys() [function.array-keys]: The first argument should be an array in /home/illustra/public_html/livingvenice/wp-includes/widgets.php on line 1042

But can't get into admin to deactivate the plugins, which would be the start of the diagnostic process. Getting these from wp-login:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/illustra/public_html/livingvenice/wp-includes/widgets.php:1042) in /home/illustra/public_html/livingvenice/wp-login.php on line 255

and these additional ones after I login:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/illustra/public_html/livingvenice/wp-includes/widgets.php:1042) in /home/illustra/public_html/livingvenice/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 658

Not pretty. Anybody feel like assisting?

Hi again...I've done quite a bit of seaching on these messages and can't find anything that matches or that I change that makes a difference.

I would very much appreciate any help, from any where...my blog has just been cited in a London newspaper. Very bad timing. :(

One way to deactivate plugins is to FTP to your site (or ssh or whatever makes you happy) and move the plugin files/directories out of the plugin directory.

    Give that a shot?

Based on the error above, you might also consider uploading a clean/fresh copy of wp-includes/widgets.php as well.

I have reinstalled everything, and emptied the plugins folder. The messages I receive are still:

Warning: array_keys() [function.array-keys]: The first argument should be an array in /home/illustra/public_html/livingvenice/wp-includes/widgets.php on line 1042

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/illustra/public_html/livingvenice/wp-includes/widgets.php:1042) in /home/illustra/public_html/livingvenice/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 848

Is this a theme issue? It just couldn't be worse timing! I had no trouble upgrading to 2.7 on two other blogs.

What version were you running before?
Are you running a widgets plugin? (no longer necessary).

And yeah, what happens when you try the Default theme?

Hi, had a tech take a closer look: the problem was a combination of two things: all the wp files were not copied over successfully, and an empty text widget in the sidebar (was not using the plugin, just to confirm). One would have been resolved with a re-install - not sure where the empty text widget came from, frankly!

    Working fine now, thankfully.

Thanks as always for everyone's input...have taken copious notes for future issues.
