let it be known that before posting i searched for every logical string of tags but i came up with nothing. so, here i am.
when i point to the upgrade.php i get the database needs to be upgraded then i hit the link and it says that my database has been indeed upgraded but it takes me right back to "your database needs to be upgraded." this error is on a constant loop.
i disabled all plugins and resorted back to the default theme and no luck. i can deal with all the other errors i am getting but this one baffles me.
my site is http://captainsdead.com in case that helps..
thanks!
Still happening? If so, tried CTRl F5? Also checked your database settings are all correct?

If anyone is still looking for a solution to this problem, I have fixed mine at least:
I have these two plugins installed:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/replace-wp-version/
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-security-scan/
I had uninstalled them both, but somehow one of them was causing my wordpress version to change even after uninstalling. I deleted the folders from the plugins directory... then backed up my db... then installed wp 2.5, restored db, ran the upgrade wizard and it worked.
I hope this helps you guys.
