Tried upgrading to latest version. Got error that update failed, now it wont show up in the list of plugins or in the post editing window. Content is still in posts, fortunately. But I can reinstall the plug in either.
Any suggestions?

I am having a similar issue. When I tried to update to the latest version, i get the following error "Destination folder already exists. /home/content/c/g/a/cgaryburke/html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/" However, when I look to the administrator page for the plugin it does not appear in the inventory.

Here's how I fixed mine. I downloaded the latest version, extracted the files and copied them to wp-content\plugins\nextgen-gallery.
Then in the admin section, I activated the plugin and it gave a warning to update the DB. I let it, and all is well again.
