Sure would be nice if "upgrade automatically" was available for WordPress itself -- it could maybe check to see if all plugins are turned off, then check to see if any files have been modified, and give you a chance to download them in a zip file (as a backup for any intentional mods), then it would upgrade automatically.

For now use this plugin:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/but Version 2.6 may have this ability.
