upgrade 3.3.2 to 3.4.1 removes all post titles "no title"

The topic title says it all. I use the standard upgrade procedure. After that, on the admin side, if I go to the list of Posts or any other list for a custom post type, the titles all read “no title.” This is true for admins and editors. The interesting thing is that it does NOT affect the public side of the site. Everything is still fine for the public.
