upgrade 1.5 -> 2.0.4 getting “no comments” on posts with comments

After the upgrade everything seemed to be going smooth.

I made a new post and received notification via email there were comments made on it.

On the main page where it usually shows “posted in ____ by _____ then X comments” under the post is showing 0 comments even when there are several.

If I click through to the comment section they show fine but above it continues to show “No responses”

The old posts before upgrading are all normal looking. Showing the # of comments.

Also. I am running Spam Karma 2 for comment spam.

Any thoughts why this is happening?
