   Hello,
   I have my wp-config.php file outside the WP folder as I read is better security.
   Now, my question is next time I have to update WP, what will happen since my wp-config is not on the same folder? will I need to move back to the same folder before upgrading? does this file get overwritten?

   The wp-config.php file does not get touched during an upgrade.
