• Hello,

    My site is threesheetsnw.com

I installed WP Super Cache more than a year ago and haven’t updated it since. At the time, I was using WPMU 2.8+ and put the plug in in the mu-plugins folder, where it remains today.

Since then, I’ve upgraded to 3.0.2. (with latest version of BuddyPress) I’d like to upgrade to the newest version of WP Super Cache and have a few questions:

First, should I or can I leave the plugin in the mu-plugins folder? If I should move it, does that require an uninstall/reinstall?

Two, exactly how do I upgrade this plugin? Is it simply a matter of copying over the existing files with the new ones? Will I need to make changes to the code added to the .htaccess and wp-config files? Sorry, but I scoured the readme text and found no info on upgrad procedures.

Three, the version currently installed on my site is 0.9.7. Any issues with upgraded from that version to 0.9.9.7?

  • You should probably install Supercache in the plugins directory and activate it sitewide. Make sure to remove it from mu-plugins first and remove wp-content/advanced-cache.php too. Your settings file can remain the way it is.

Thanks donncha. So happy to have this working again. And it does work great. Now the only problem is how slow my third-party hosted ads load 🙂

    Much appreicated!
