   I'm currently using version 2.2.2. I'm looking to update to the newest version (2.3.1), but I'm not quite clear on how to go about it with regards to not wiping out all of my previous data, posts, comments, etc

   (I didn't personally perform the install of my current version)

   Is there anything I should know?

   I think the upgrading instructions in the codex should suffice. Do make sure you read and follow every single step. Skipping one could cost you no matter how insignificant it may sound. (:

   you can use WordPress Automatic Upgrade. it will make your live very easy !

   I upgraded to 2.3.1 from 2.2.2 and my email notification for new comment is not working anymore!! Please help.
