I have WP 3.03 with multi site enabled. I would like to update to 3.04, but it doesn't work. This is what shoes the wp automatic update.

Installing the latest version…
Could not copy file.: /public_html/wp-admin/css/theme-editor.dev.css
Installation Failed
I'm very happy with 3.03, but many new plugins are compatible up 04.
Can you please tell me what to do?

If you're using Pure-ftpd with WHM, try switching over to using Proftp.

Btw, how can I upgrade to 3.1?, it's not on WP.org.

Try the WordPress Beta Tester plugin (you’ll want “bleeding edge nightlies”): http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-beta-tester/
Or you can download the release candidate directly and upgrade manually: http://wordpress.org/wordpress-3.1-RC3.zip

Only if you're comfortable with pre-release software.
