   Two of my original WP blogs are in vers. 2.1. I want to update them to the current version. Is there anything I should be aware of that might have a negative affect on the current blog setup?

   um, 2.1? do you mean 1.2? Current version is 2.0.3.

   If from 1.2, it's recommend you upgrade to 1.5, and then to 2.

   Yes, I meant 1.2.

   I typically use Fantastico to install or upgrade WP - but that always has the latest version. Would things backfire if I just used that to do the upgrade? If so, how do I upgrade in stages?

   1. If you have 1.2.x you can NOT update directly to 2.0.3.
   2. Usually, Fantastico never has the latest...
   3. Do NOT do it with Fantastico; you have to proceed manually, as suggested above.
