works fine for me on 3.7.1
just did a quick retest with the ‘meta’ widget.
What makes you think it doesn’t work ?
Try with a standard theme to ensure no theme is not doing anything weird to the sidebar.

Well its working fine with the standard theme. But for the needs of my site i am using “Blank Twenty Twelve Child theme” with some custom edits and i have a wierd layout for my widgets.
(I am using widgets from the encyclopedia elit plugin and the layout is wrong… i can give you a screenshot or whatever info u need to help me)

Sorry for double posting but i want to ask. Is there any possibility i ll get proper layout if i use the id of the widget and not the widget name?

At a guess I’d say the ‘proper layout’ you are looking for is possibly because css that applies to the widget when in a a sidebar is somehow not applied when not in a sidebar.
You need to apply css debugging … use ‘inspect element’ – compare the two version – inj sidebar and in shortcode and adjust css as necessary.
