hello, im in the process of updating my WordPress, ( Click here to view it http://www.purewire.net/site2/ ) from 2.04 to 2.1.1. Because some how the database i was using disappeared??, ive had to copy all of the text manualy. Anyway, so now ive had to make a new database and entered the info required in the new WP-CONFIG.php. Its still not working so id really appreciate it if you could help me try and sort it out.

We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the web82-word database.Are you sure it exists?
On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?

That web82-word looks strange.
Make sure your wp-config.php has the correct DB_HOST value.

You saved your wp-config.php file before starting the upgrade, right?

Posted 5 years ago #yea its all in there, i actual downloaded the old wp-config.php first to see if i was doing it ryt. ive read the installion first and did what it said to to... . But its still not working? is it something on my database ive got to change???
P.S "web82" is the server its on and "word" is the the name of the database.
im using betainternet.co.uk im not sure if uve heard of them before? -
Well confirm your database name, your user name, your user password.
Lately I've seen where people had to redo their password, and found the user was mysteriouly deleted.
