  • Yes, there is. Follow this: http://wpgetready.com/wiki/nextcellent-plugin/css-override-keeping-changes-between-updates/

Additionally, we are working on adding more and better support for this.

I wasn’t talking about the CSS file. I’m using a custom album thumbnail template selected in the shortcode ([album id=1 template=compactcwc]) which is being removed.

I’ve also just figured out that the loss of the template isn’t the only issue. Something has changed in the code as that shortcode no longer works even after the template has been copied back to the view folder. I’ve had to revert to the previous version.

I see, my apologies for misreading. For templates, I recommend you read this page: http://wpgetready.com/wiki/nextcellent-plugin/templates/

Especially the naming and saving parts. Please make sure everything is done as described.

Ah, I see. I had the custom template in the wrong place. Thank you.

With everything I’d read in the NextGen docs, I never saw anything about their loading custom templates from that location. Still have issues with the styling, but at least the template is being found and not getting overwritten.

    Thanks again for the assistance.

And last of the mystery has been solved.

Apparently, 1.9.18 was still picking up the nggallery.css CSS override file from the location specified in the NextGen docs, ../wp-content/ngg_styles, while 1.9.19 won’t pick up nggallery.css unless it’s in the theme folder.

    Got everything working again.

    Thanks for the help.

This is certainly peculiar. NextCellent currently doesn’t support the ngg_styles folder, but we’re working on it. Why it did work in 1.9.18, is a mystery though.

Most likely answer is that I’d buried the modified styles file in the plugin folder and forgotten I’d done so. I wouldn’t waste any time trying to figure it out, I’m certainly not going to. 🙂

Thanks again. I appreciate your taking the time to help.

OK, glad to be of help then. If you could mark the topic as resolved, it would be completely awesome 😀

Seems I have to post something to mark this resolved.
