Update/Publish Post/Page Showing 404 Error

    Hey everyone,

    This is the THIRD time I’ve got this error. For some unknown reason, whenever I publish OR edit a post/page I’m led to “wp-admin/post.php” and given a 404 error.

    The last time this happened I had to reinstall the entire thing.

    Every permutation of editing the .htaccess file has been tried and tested.

    I’m in desperate need of a solution – this problem has been plaguing me for too long.

    Please help!!!

    Edit: It’s not just posts/pages, it’s happening EVERY SINGLE UPDATE. This includes whenever I change the menus for example.

    PLEASE HELP ASAP!

    Are you using any extra non-WordPress .htaccess rules? Perhaps any plugins that relate to enhancing security for the wp-admin folder? It’s usually good to try disabling all plugins and switching to the default Twenty Eleven theme to see if one of them is causing the issue.

    If that doesn’t help, just to make sure the actual files didn’t somehow get mangled, you can try replacing your wp-admin folder with a new copy from a freshly downloaded copy of WordPress.

    If you’re still having issues, it’s probably an issue with the server itself. Try asking your host.
