update.php + redirect loop (4 posts)

I updated my old wordpress (2.0) to the 2.8.1 Beta 2 and almost everything is going ok. But I've problems in these situations:

    - Installing/updating new plugins with the admin panel
    - Installing/updating new themes with the admin panel
    - Updating WP core

In all of these cases, after entering the FTP access information, Firefox give me a redirect loop error. If I try with Explorer 6 I wait and nothing occurs.

I've given 777 access to plugins and themes folders with no result. The FTP access information is ok, so I can delete plugins from the admin panel.

An URL example giving this error: /wp-admin/update.php?action=install-plugin&plugin=intensedebate&_wpnonce=8fed84fc7e

    Anyone can help?

    Thx!

Please share what you had to change/add to the .htaccess file. I don't think I've ever regretted a WordPress update before. Sometimes updating the plugin works, sometimes it doesn't.
