• I went into my dashboard (after backing everything up) to update my website to WordPress 3.4.1. After hitting the “update now” button it said update was successful, welcome to WordPress 3.4.1. The next day when I went back to my dashboard, it told me that I need to update again, as if I never did it. This happened with more than one of my websites and I’m so confused what I did wrong. Please help!

    Thanks!
    Sarah

  • Once you upgrade, navigate to http://yoursite.com/wp-admin.upgrade.php.

Once that is done, log out, close the browser, open it again and it should be fine.

Thank you, but when I tried to go to my website/wp-admin.upgrade.php it said NOTHING FOUND? Now what?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php
