Updated to 1.9.6 and site crashed. Please help…

Hi,
So Ive been trying to add Paypal Pro to my site and it originally crashed the site. After going into to CPanel and removing it, all is better. So I was told to update to the newest version of Jigo. Which I did, then I my site crashed again. I went in the back end and renamed Jigo, in order to get access. After changing the name back to the correct name, it auto deactivated Jigo. No problem. So I went to activate it again and I get this error.
“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/(Removed)/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jigoshop/gateways/paypal.php on line 21”

Can someone help? Also, if I delta Jigo completely and instal an older version, will I loose all my content? That is would be devastating. So I didn’t want to risk it. Right now, I have the site on maintenance mode.
