updated theme, header cut off

I updated themes and now my header is cut off, the width of my blog (on top of the background) is narrower and the content doesn’t display properly (gallery pages only show 2 items…used to be 3 items per line.
I’m looking at the theme design settings, global styles…but even when I make a careful change, it doesn’t change.
