Need to know if you are using wordpress from folder like do have your index.php file root and your wordpress files and folders in folder
I’m not completely sure what you mean, but I’m using wordpress from bluehost, although I installed it manually into the root directory instead of through their simple script due to it being broken or something a while ago.
Did you update comic press as well? I seem to recall hearing that it had some issues with the older version and the newer WordPress.
I think so, because there was a prompt to update comicpress there as well and I did that. I can’t tell if it’s the version it should be or not, though. Is there a way to do that?
(I’m kind of new to the whole wordpress comicpress thingy)
This is what happens when you upgrade to the ComicPress 2.9.2.* series from previous versions.
Set your comic and blog categories again with comicpress manager (plugin) in the comicpress -> comicpress config settings.
Your widgets went from your sidebars to the inactive region in the appearance -> widgets, just drag them back into the appropriate sidebars.
The menubar is now using the wordpress menu, go to appearance -> menus and setup a menubar.
.. and that’s all, the key thing is setting the comic and blog root categories again to make sure the theme knows which is which.
Okay, I really appreciate your help Frumph. I was hoping you’d be around.
Although now I can’t try these things because something I did while fiddling around trying to put everything back seems to have caused me to be unable to load the dashboard page to my website, or my website at all. Any ideas on that?
Is there some kind of .php file that I may have done something to?
You may want to try re-uploading your theme.
Also, for testing purposes, rename your plugins directory from within the wp-content directory. And change your theme to the twentyten theme as well. See: Change Theme in PHPMyAdmin
I agree with bh_WP_fan with everything except the change theme in phpmyadmin crap.
Just go to wp-content/themes and remove that comicpress you have there, hopefully you made cosmetic changes with theme companion (comicpress companion) or a child theme.
If you did not, save your style.css and any images you put in themes/comicpress then upload a fresh copy of comicpress (removing old first, not write over current)

It’s not “crap”. It’s a valid solution – as is yours. There is often more than one solution to a problem but that does not mean there is any need to label the help offered by others with derogatory & unnecessary comments.
This is supposed to be a supportive environment. Let’s try to keep it that way, eh?
Okay well I did try the twentyten thing but that’s just giving me some other weird errors, so I’m going to try the other thing Frumph suggested as soon as I get home from work.
I’ll let you guys know what’s going on when I do that. Please don’t break out into internet fights in the mean time.
Okay, everything appears to be working now.
Thank you to everyone here who helped me out, really.
And of course especially to Frumph. I really appreciate that you are around and available to answer questions about your comicpress. Thank you for your help. I’ll let you guys know if anything else goes screwy.
