   Hi,

   I have been running a popular blog - http://www.girirajswami.com - for 4 years on WP2.0, using the Mandigo theme and Podpress plugin to play MP3's. Something went wonky and i decided to take the opportunity to update to the latest WP. Unfortunately i couldn't login so i never disabled Podpress.

   I followed all the instructions to update, copied all the files across and updated the database which is being accessed by the blog successfully. Still there are major errors on the page and i am unable to login. I don't know if the error is in the WP files or in the database. Maybe i need to disable Podpress and change to the default theme but i cannot login to do so. Is there a way to edit the files to do this without going through the dashboard?

   I am completely at a loss, please help.

   To disable a plugin without being able to log in to your dashboard, you can delete the plugin folder via FTP.

   Thanks for the suggestion. I have tried that and and the same problems exist so i suppose that is not the answer.

   When i click on 'Login' the Login page just reloads and there is still script all over the place with no formatting or layout.

   Re-upload all the files for WordPress.
