    Help!(

Seems I’ve run into an SQL problem during updating (in one of three blogs, the other two updates went smoothly) – can’t get into administration either: “not enough rights”… any way out? – Rerunning update.php doesn’t change anything… – start page: http://www.pvfzs.de – Thanks for your help!

  • Did you have any category related plugins or theme modifications before you upgraded? Could be that something got overwritten during the upgrade.

possible (damn)… any chance of rescue?

Maybe should wait for the real experts on this, but here’s what I can think of:

If you have a backup, get the old theme files from there. Also, remove all non-standard plugins from the plugins folder, see if you can log in and then upload the plugins and activate them one by one to see where the problems start.

    I guess I’ll wait…

    I had quite a lot of plugins, but most of them were not activated. Here’s a list of what’s in my plugin folder: akismet, audio-player, cdt, chenpress, bd-timesince, brianslatestcomments, cjd_preview, countdowntimer, flickr-gallery, gravatar, hello, image-headlines, linkspage, live-comment-preview, markdown, mcRSSlist, preview-plugin, recent-comments, recent-posts, runphp, sem-opt-in-front, sem-recent-updates, sem-static-front, sem-tile-sidebar, sitemap, subscribe2, textile1, tw-autosave, wp-contactform, wp-db-backup, wp-onlinecounter, wp-shortstat.

I have created an empty plugin folder and renamed the original one, I have put my template (slightly varied kubrick) as “default” into the theme folder – still same category error, still cannot log in to admin…

I have PHPmyadmin access to my tables, but don’t know what to do with my admin entry in the users table to get into WP admin again…

    (@matthiasheil)

Activating the default theme provides entry to an admin dashboard page without horizontal menu entries – top right it says “Howdy, . [Sign Out, My Account]”

In phpMyAdmin I see the following tables (all with pvfzswp_ in front of them): categories, comments, linkcategories, links, options, post2cat, postmeta, posts, ss_search, ss_stats, users, onlinecounter

Just one more thought before I say I’m sorry that I couldn’t help: did you run a localized version, and did you make sure to upload the language file after upgrade?

Not sure how large the effect of a missing language file would be, but maybe it could explain the dashboard problems.

    (@matthiasheil)

I did use a German WP before upgrading – and have deleted the language file – I’ll try putting it back where it was…

Never mind – set up the blog anew…
