   Hello,

   I am a very new user of Word Press -with limited knowledge of Word Press and coding etc - and have recently taken over a blog that was running fine.
   When I connected myself today, an update of the WordPress version (3.3.1) was offered so I selected this. Since then, no access to the website nor to the login page.
   This is the message I get
   Fatal error: (food-ag) Call to undefined method Services_JSON::encodeUnsafe() in /afs/athena.mit.edu/activity/f/food-ag/web_scripts/wp-includes/compat.php on line 73

   I have seen blogs for similar issues but could someone offer detailed steps to follow since I am new to this.
   I do not know how to save the content that was on the blog, which is my current concern. If I can at least do that, I would create a new one if possible.

   See Upgrading WordPress « WordPress Codex and do a manual upgrade. Your content is in the databse and won't be touched. Don't overwrite wp-content or you will loose your theme.
