   My WP Blog is SouthsideCentral

   I published an article two days ago and wanted to update it with new information. I changed the publication date in the PUBLISH section because I wanted the article to bounce back up to the top.

   Unfortunately, that also changed the permalink to one reflecting the new "date of publication" and the old permalink became broken. Not acceptable, so I just made a new article and linked back to the first version.

   I'm unable to change any part of the permalink structure that's specified in the original settings.

   Does anybody know a way to work around this?

   you should change the structure from the specific cpanel; here you can set permalinks just like you wish.
   Moreover, old permalink urls automatically redirect to the new ones if edited.
   If this not happens consider to reinstall your cms.
