[resolved] Upcoming performances not shown as a link (10 posts)

    At the bottom of various pages (e.g. single category, location, etc.), the list of upcoming performances is displayed. However, they aren't shown as a link. Is there a way to get them to be links?

    Thanks,
    David

    The Upcoming Performances are specified using the #_CATEGORYEVENTSNEXT shortcode on the Settings page for single category pages. I couldn't find any way to indicate that I want that to display links, and I couldn't find another shortcode to use it its place that would show links. Can you give me an example?

    Thanks,
    David

    here is what I would do.

    Wrap the #_CATEGORYEVENTSNEXT with a link string like this

    <a href="#_EVENTURL">#_CATEGORYEVENTSNEXT</a>

    This works for me on my site reverbtickets.com

    that would wrap all the events in one link.

    should add the same for categories as for locations (didn't realize it wasn't available, will correct, currently the format is take from the locations list), but I notice a typo in the locations default event list, it should be :

    <li><a href="#_EVENTURL">#_NAME - #j #M #Y - #H:#i sss</a></li>

    I'm also having this problem.

    When I add the code from your last post it shows up as the raw characters and are not converted into the event url, name, date and time.

    Here's my single category page code

    #_CATEGORYNOTES

    <h3>Upcoming #_CATEGORYNAME</h3>
    <ul>
    <li><a href="#_EVENTURL">#_NAME - #M #j, #Y at #g:#i #A</a></li>
    </ul>

    and a link to an example page:

    you want the upcoming events placeholder, see the wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/placeholders/ docs

    I've seen that placeholders page but the problem is that the Categories pages only accept Category related placeholders (which are actually not listed on the placeholders doc you linked).

    Is there a way to make the Category pages accept Event related placeholders?

    #_CATEGORYEVENTSNEXT is the placeholder for upcoming events, you can modify the contents of that in the categories area of the settings page (note: in 4.15 it's taking the values from locations, will be fixed in 4.16)
