Upcoming Events Widget: Show Events By Location?

    Is it possible to show events only at a particular location in the Upcoming Events Widget? I’d rather not have to create additional ‘categories’ for events in order to achieve this.

    Ultimately my goals is to include different versions of the widget on particular pages, and want to only display events that are at one particular location on each of those pages.

    Perhaps i’m missing something obvious as it seems like this would be something many people would want.

    Just to clarify: this is different from the locations widgets which lists the locations… what i’d like is a full events listing widget, but only showing events from the location i specify.

    yes, you can use shortcode [events_list location=”X”] (where X is the location id) in your text widget and then use wp plugin like Shortcodes in Sidebar Widgets to enable shortcodes in text widget

    Wow – so easy! Thanks so much. Another question, which may become obvious once i go and have a look at making this work, but can i then style this listing in a specific way, and control what information is output specifically for that particular listing. (Since in the widget i can control the way the date, image, location etc are displayed).

    I’ll go and have a look at making this work, and if the above doesn’t become clear, I may be back asking for some more help.

    Hi Angelo,
    I know this is a very delayed response. Perhaps it made sense to me when I was originally working on this, but now I can’t seem to figure out where to find out my location ID’s? I have three locations, where can i see what their ID’s are?

    I’ve just realized that the ID’s are 1, 2 & 3. But i don’t understand why the locations where given those ID’s, since they don’t correspond to the order the are listed in my locations list. For example, If i edit a location, and it becomes the most recently edited, will my ID’s change?
