[resolved] Upcoming events view (7 posts)

I'm sure I miss something, but I use the widget in the 'upcoming events' view. For some reason I can have an event title link to an external url, but when there is none, the title isn't linked. How do I link a title to the event details that I give when creating a new event?

Oh, I would also like the widget giving the dates of multiple-date events, as in "1 to 3 january" instead of just the first date.

The whole list of available template tags is on the Help page. You're looking for {details} and {daterange}.

Thank you for your reply. I certainly missed that. Two follow-up questions though.

{details} doesn't do anything in the widget and is there a possibility to crop the daterange?

Details only does anything if you've specified your calendar's URL in your settings. Otherwise, it doesn't know what URL to return.

I don't recall whether {daterange} has a filter attached in this version, but it does in the next release, due out later today.

Ok, thanks again. I was actually thinking along the lines: when I make an event I can make a description and a short description and I actually want to link to that description from the list-view (not the calendar), when there is no url specified. It sounds like that's what you say the {details} shortcode does, but it doesn't.

I'm almost there. Now I only want to edit the details view, or more specifically, get rid of the 'view complete calendar' link.

Found the template editor. Got it almost as I wanted.
