    Hi there,
Some unwanted text has appeared in the header area of my site cosmickids.co.uk
It is random text from a plugin. I tried deactivating the plugin - the text simply changes to text from another plugin. And so on. Any ideas?
I looked in my header.php and there's nothing untoward in there.
    Thanks!
    Martin

    Hi Martin,

There is at least one syntax error in the head section of the page.
Use W3C to validate your syntax. It will find the errors and suggest remedies.

    Thanks W.P!
I've given th syntax validation a go. It's spotting errors I've no idea how to solve. It looks like css from a plugin is finding itself attached to a Thesis Hook before the nav bar. I can't see an explanation in the syntax validation (I'm not really sure what to look for tho...)
    Any steers?

    Hi Martin,

Whatever you did, it solved the problem though.

Whenever you suspect a plugin / plugins might be the problem: deactivate / delete it / them and see if that solves the problem.
Then - one by one re-install / re-activate. Make sure you check the result step by step. Once you've found the 'culprit', try to find a replacement that doesn't upset things.

Thanks W.P. - yep it seemed to sort of solve itself. I think it's something to do with the nav menu options in Thesis. When I changed the categories I want to be shown in the nav it just went away. Thanks a lot for your help - much appreciated. Great forum!
